Interlude, For Mothers day....

How easy it is for us who are fortunate enough to have mothers to forget those who have to take up the role of mothers through no choice of there own.  I was thinking of a close friend who found herself in this situation at a very early age and this is my tribute to her and all those who find themselves in this situation.

Even though you were not prepared for it, you were thrown into a situation, where you as the daughter had to assume the role of mother.  To make sure that there was food on the table, love and care for your siblings and above all put there needs above yours.  In spite of the grief you felt, in spite of the hurt, anger and disappointment, you stepped up to the plate.  Gathering your courage and stepping forth and taking the role.  Against all odds, you raised them, got them through school and through difficult times through happy times until they were ready to venture out into the world on there own. This while you were trying to prepare yourself for your own future, hoping that one day you too would have the opportunity that they had.

You are indeed blessed, for the Creator has chosen you and given you a gift so precious that every human being yearns for with the very fabric of the soul.  The ability to give and receive love unconditionally in spite of the odds.  To be able to shape the lives of those around and to experience the joy of there success, your success.

So look at what you have achieved and rejoice.  These lives that you have shaped to take on the journey of life this is the true success.  You have succeeded where others have, more often then not, failed. And you have done so through the courage, determination and most of all the love that you have for your own.

You are indeed a Mother, and these few words an attempt at gratitude that the Almighty has seen fit to create people as special and wonderful as you :-)
